These legendary racecars are on display in the museum.”
The Simeone Foundation Museum, which is conveniently located right off I-95 in South Philadelphia, features 65 of the world’s most famous racecars. The collection of rare and historically significant automobiles is displayed in dioramas that recreate the settings of historic races such as LeMans, Sebring, the Mille Miglia and the Bonneville Salt Flats. Like Philadelphia’s famed Barnes Foundation collection of paintings, the Simeone Foundation exhibition is a personal collection, acquired over more than a half century and driven by a singular vision and specific ideas about how the collection should be arranged and exhibited. The central theme of the Simeone Foundation collection is “the spirit of competition.”
The Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and includes many of the most significant racing sports cars ever built.
